Taurus New Moon ~ Apr 21, 2012
On Saturday April 21 at 12:18 am Pacific Time we may begin to feel some relief from the past few months of challenges – A New Moon in Taurus graces us with some well-deserved peace and comfort (at least for now…)
In the fixed earth sign of Taurus the focus is safety, security, and stability. After the burst of life force energy primarily centered on emergence and survival in Aries, we can allow an instinctual gravitation to what feels good. We take a break from battle and let the body love what it loves. We get to sink into the physical realm and its material pleasures to gain a deeper sense of what it means to maintain a functional vessel in the third dimension. There is the potential to reach a better understanding of what our bodies need for support and sustenance. In Virgo we learn about what supports us in the material realm by improving ourselves and releasing things that we determine no longer serve us. In Taurus we can get a better sense of what FEEDS us. This is partly why the Moon is exalted (likes being) in Taurus – the climate of nurturance and support allows the changeable Moon to relax temporarily and trust that life will provide.
It's a great time to make a clear gesture toward what you'd like to bring in next on a material level. Celebration of the earth and its abundance is called for (I find it interesting that it was decided that Earth day should be right around the Taurus ingress). Psychologically it may be a good time to look at where we're being resistant or bull-headed about things. For instance I'm working with my resistance to blogging by writing a blog! In true Taurus fashion I'm going to keep it short and to the point.
Venus, the ruling planet of Taurus, has just entered its retrograde shadow (meaning the degrees over which it will turn retrograde from May 15 – June 27) a few days ago. This will be a time of reassessment and adjustment of the ways we relate to others and what we value. Take concrete steps now toward your goals but approach them with flexibility as Venus will be retrograding through Gemini, a sign of versatility and spontaneity. For now take your time and sow seeds of nascent future forms – perhaps tapping into the inspiration the Mercury-Uranus conjunction currently yields for assistance.
